Here is a couple of things to think about.....

1. Why would an online betting agency tell you who they think will win if they have to pay you? Did somebody say Favourite?

2. If a horse places well on a Soft track, why would we think it would place well on a Firm track? They have two more knees than us. Therefore they can have two times more the pain than us. Nobody runs well with sore knees.

3. If a horse places well on 1200m track, why would we think it would place well on a 2400m track?

4. The Red colour of the jockey clothing will not make the horse run faster?

5. Do you  know what the Jockey leader board is and how it can affect your choices?

6. Are there any instances of a trainer/jockey combination not doing well and all of a sudden it does well?

7. What about this…….

       a. A horse places well 4 races ago, on a Good 3 track, at a distance of 1600m, a field size of 12, a weight of 56.5kg and with a win price of $1.65

       b. Then, for the next 2 races, it places further down the line, with differing track conditions, distances and field sizes.

       c. Now in todays race, we have Good 3, a distance of 1600m, field size of 11, a weight of 56kg and a win price of $59.

       d. Does this horse stand a chance of winning?

        e. The mathematics says it has a very good chance of winning, depending on how many other horses satisfy the same criteria.

        f. Gambling? I think not! I suspect that the trainer is playing a strategy to build the win price.

Only gamble what you can afford to lose.
